Lamplight Advisory offers (back office) services to assist disability services owners/directors, CEOs, Company Boards and Leadership teams.

The services offered are designed to assist the owner/leaders by providing skilled services in complex matters, where sometimes, in house expertise may be lacking or unavailable.

Leaders Confidential Counsel

A confidential professional person for leaders to talk to and work through and sound out issues or concerns regarding your service. This is a not a legal advisory service, rather the opportunity to discuss your issues and concerns in a confidential, respectful manner with a private third party. 

The Leaders Confidential Counsel service is available as a one off, or regular booked meetings, depending on the leader and their needs. (I’m happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement, to ease any concerns about the protection of commercially sensitive information/ideas)

Governance Guidance

Sometimes an external pair of eyes, can identify or “see” what you may not.  This is a guidance service to review and ensure that your service has sufficient governance (people, structures and systems) in place to protect the participants, the staff, the leaders and the organisation.

A review of governance will also assist with preparation for NDIS Accreditation.

Strategic Planning Sessions

A process by which either (a) a new Strategic Plan is developed or (b) an existing Strategic Plan is reviewed. This would usually be a process taking in the views, opinions and ideas of key stakeholders. 

This ensures your Strategic Plans are current and up to date, or modified according to your plans and ideas.

Operational Management Review and Advice

A step-by-step review and discussion of systems and processes to suit your services and budget.

This type of review provides an external perspective on how your business operates. This is not a service based on criticism, in fact, quite the opposite. This service comes from a ‘best practice and quality improvement perspective’.

How this service is provided is dependent on your business model and what it is that you want considered. 

Accreditation Assistance

Our assistance in the area of accreditation can be broken down into several areas, based on the accreditation cycle.

  1. Pre accreditation review and assessment (a review based on the Accreditation Standards, including expected evidence of compliance).
  2. Assistance with accreditation preparation, including assistance with policy/procedure development.
  3. Hosting/chairing regular accreditation team meetings (to keep things happening on time).
  4. Post Accreditation follow up, if required.
  5. Assisting with non-compliances and any remedial work required.

Critical Incident Guidance and Advice

There are times when interested parties seek answers regarding incidents big or small. They may require initial reporting, then the provision of additional information, ongoing reporting and follow up. This service is designed to assist service providers with small leadership teams respond appropriately and in a timely manner to Critical Incidents. 

Note: In no way is this service designed to assist with “spin”, nor is legal advice provided. 

Rather, this service helps providers’ respond in a mature considered fashion to enquiring agencies. To explain events or incidents in a clear manner.

Independent Investigations

A valid investigation requires impartiality (to reduce the potential for an allegation of bias). Our team are able to help your team work through investigations and assist with presenting sufficient evidence (based on the balance of probabilities). 

These situations are sensitive, difficult and sometimes embarrassing. Our team will assist in a professional discreet manner. We will work as quickly as possible to gather evidence, interview interested persons and provide findings in a concise manner.  It is not our responsibility to make “judgement” that for you. We provide the information in a way that assists the decision makers in a way that upholds the principles of: presumption of innocence, application of procedural fairness and dignity and respect to all involved.

Clinical Care Assistance

If you are not a clinician and you are working with them, at times it can be overwhelming. What do you believe? Our RNs have been in senior positions and are able to assist with consideration of clinical matters, including: safe practice, policies, procedures and compliance issues. 

Our services hope to dispel jargon and provide clear assistance with respect to participants with clinical issues and the services required to support them safely, within mandated guidelines and do it successfully.

Short Term Help “Arms and Legs on the ground”

We are able to provide assistance to your service for short periods of time. If, for example you have a project and need someone to “pitch in”, contact us and ask how we can help on the ground. 

Executive/CEO Holiday Relief “minding the shop”

Finding someone to “mind the shop” so you can take a holiday and really relax is rare.  We offer the ability to provide CEO/executive holiday relief. 

How would this be done? We would meet and plan for your break. Planning would include the scope of the relief provided, i.e. what needs to be managed, what requires ongoing attention, and the scope of our roles while you’re away. This takes planning and consideration, but works and can be done successfully.
